Miranda Musical Theatre Company
The Sutherland Shire's Premier Community Theatre Production Company
Miranda Musical Theatre Company is deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Val Nicholson, a Foundation Member, Life Member, friend and committed supporter of the Company.
In October 1967, Val (nee Paton) joined the newly formed Miranda Musical Society, as part of the female chorus, for its premiere production of The Desert Song in March 1968, which was performed in the Society’s new venue at the Port Hacking High School Auditorium.
Following her marriage to Doug Nicholson (who himself went on to work Front of House, FOH Manager, backstage crew, Backstage Manager, spotlight operator, scenery, phone bookings, Casting Committee, Box Office, Ticket Manager, Promotion and Programme Coordinator and President) Val was cast in the role of Brenda in our September production of The Pajama Game (1968) and was part of the chorus in Kiss Me Kate (March 1969) and South Pacific (March 1970). Val was a member of the Social Committee from 1967 until 1969.
